Oases & Desert

An oasis in southern Tunisia is a lush, green haven amidst the arid desert, characterized by date palms, irrigated crops, natural water springs, pools, and sometimes waterfalls. These places offer a striking contrast to the surrounding dunes and often contain hot springs, as in Ksar Ghilane. Oases, such as those in Tozeur and Chebika, are centers of social, economic, and cultural life, producing famous dates like Deglet Nour and serving as starting points for desert excursions.
